Court hours are 8am to 11pm. Last players at night must shut off lights.
Tennis attire is required. Tennis shoes only. No swimsuits, no bare chests.
Members are asked to closely supervise children who accompany them to the courts. Children who, because of their behavior, are disrupting play should be escorted away from the court area.
Members and guests shall drive carefully in and around the club at a maximum speed of 5 mph inside the parking area.
Courts 1-6 may be reserved up to a week in advance. There must be at least one club member playing on each reserved court. Court time is limited to 2 1⁄2 hours unless family members need an additional court. In this case the maximum court time is 5 hours.
Pickleball Courts: Court 3 is reserved for Pickleball use, comprised of two individual courts. *Court 3 may be reserved by the Court Scheduler for some league team matches or occasional club special events.
Default time on a reservation is 10 minutes.
Reservations for team events including matches, recurring practices and recurring lessons will be made by the Tennis Director. Reservations for individual matches such as T-2 and Ultimate Tennis must be made by the playing member(s). Reservations for make-up matches due to rain outs or team matches played on days other than originally scheduled must be made by the playing member or team captain.
Adults have court priority each night after 7:00 pm and on weekend daytime except on Court 6, which is designated as a Junior Court. Junior members are 16 years or under. Juniors may not reserve courts for play after 7:00 pm. Adult members may ask Junior players to give up court 1-5 if no other court is available during priority time. Juniors participating in team league matches or recurring practice/lessons are exception to the above.
ALTA/USTA Teams: All teams must be captained and co-captained by members. The captain is responsible for assuring all team members adhere to club rules and additionally, that lights are turned off and rest rooms are available.
Club members shall comprise at least 60% of a team’s roster (round up). During the season club members shall not be denied reasonable playing time due to the inclusion of non-members. Club members shall not be refused a place on a team for any reason except for those explicitly imposed by the league in question (e.g. USTA computer ranking).
All non-members who have left the club within the past three years will pay $75 per ALTA/USTA season. All other non-members will pay $60 per ALTA/USTA season. If either non-member plays ALTA/USTA concurrently they pay double the fee. Court fees should be paid through the Non-Member Tennis Fees page.
Non-member players use of Vermack courts is limited to team practices/team lessons, home matches and /or as an invited guest. Non-club members not on a team may not participate in group lessons or take private lessons at the club.
Upon receipt of the new ALTA/USTA packet all captains must give notice to the court scheduler that team (new or old) is being formed. No practice time will be assigned without such notice to the Tennis Director.

Teams playing out of Vermack are entitled to two courts for ALTA/USTA matches. A third court will be assigned by the Court Scheduler if possible. Teams may not claim a third court if not assigned.
Reservations for team practices are limited to two courts. If more than two courts are in use by a team for practice, team players on the additional court(s) may be bumped by other members.
Normally only two teams will be scheduled for practice at the same time.
Practice times for each season will be assigned on a first come-first served basis.
Teams may practice as a team only once a week.
Makeup matches have priority over casual play and may be re-scheduled as necessary.
Only Vermack sanctioned teams may play out of Vermack.
Vermack will contribute 1⁄2 of the cost toward one metal placard, recognizing a team as a Division Winner, City Finalist, or City Champion in ALTA/USTA play. Teams will be responsible for the remaining cost. The placards are to be placed on the tennis court fence in an orderly manner. Placards are to be approved by the Tennis Committee for consistency.
Team captains are responsible to ensure that their team members are aware of these rules. Please check the rest rooms after a match to make certain they are locked before you leave. Be certain to pick up litter and lost articles after your
